Job Posting: PIDIM Administrative Assistant – Student Position (Casual, Remote Work)

Hours: Casual, up to 40 hours per month (hours will vary)
Location: Remote (occasional travel within Wpg may be required)
Reports to: Executive Director

Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour

About PIDIM

The Professional Interior Designers Institute of Manitoba (PIDIM) is a non‑profit, regulatory body responsible for the protection of public health, safety and welfare in relation to the practice of Professional Interior Design in the Province. PIDIM promotes high standards in interior design instituting rigorous examination, education, experience, and insurance requirements for all Professional Interior Design Members of PIDIM.

We are seeking a motivated Interior Design student to join us in a flexible, casual role supporting our Executive Director and PIDIM Council in relation to communications, events, and administrative functions.

Position Overview

The PIDIM Administrative Assistant will work under the direction of the Executive Director to support day‑to‑day operations and contribute to the association’s outreach and member engagement. This position is ideal for a University Interior Design student looking to gain experience in a professional association setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management
    • Create, schedule, and monitor posts on PIDIM’s social platforms with direction from PIDIMs Public Relations Councilor
    • Assist with content development and member engagement
  • Event Support
    • Assist with planning and coordinating association events (virtual and in-person)
    • Support logistics, communications, and day-of coordination
  • Council/Committee Support
    • Assist various Council members with administrative tasks
  • Administrative Duties
    • Organize files, manage emails, update documents, and support general office tasks
  • Website Updates
    • Update content, post announcements, and ensure information remains current
  • Research
    • Conduct research to support initiatives, member resources, advocacy, and communications materials

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a recognized university program. Preference given to students studying interior design.
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
  • Experience with Canva and other Graphic Design programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Creative and detail-oriented, with an interest in the design profession

Work Conditions

  • Casual, flexible schedule up to 40 hours per month
  • Fully remote, with potential occasional local tasks
  • Ideal for students seeking meaningful experience within Manitoba’s design community
  • A laptop will be provided for business related to PIDIM
